FAQ – After School Activities

IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR ALL PARENTS:

Please note, if your child(ren) require special medical aids such as an inhaler, epipen or other at school, they will need to have these medical items with them in order to participate in any after school program. Any medical aids that are kept in school offices are not accessible after school.

Where do I pick-up and drop-off my child?

For convenience, all pick-up and drop-off will be at the cafeteria (yellow X) at Pacific Academy (unless otherwise stated).

Where do the sessions take place?

All after school programs take place on the Pacific Academy Campus unless otherwise stated. Please refer to the class that you are looking into specifically for details on the exact location on campus.

Is there a late fee for picking up my child late?

Late Fees: We are asking parents to pick-up children on time. Late fees will be charged to parents who are beyond 15 minutes late to pick-up their child. A $20 fee will be charged to your account.

What does my child wear for dance classes?

All dance classes require the appropriate footwear. For safety reasons, appropriate dance shoes/runners need to be worn for all classes in order to participate. Please see list below:

Ballet: Ballet slippers
Jazz: Black Jazz shoes
Lyrical/Contemporary: Foot undies, non-slip socks, or bare feet
Tap: Black Tap shoes
Musical Theater/Song & Dance: Black Jazz shoes
Sports: Non-marking indoor runners

JK3, JK4, K-Gr.2:

Any child who is in JK3-Grade 2 and is enrolled in an after school activity at Pacific Academy does not need to change out of their school uniform. They should wear their uniform to the dance class or sports program they are enrolled in, however appropriate shoes will need to be worn (see above).

Gr. 3-5:

Students in Gr. 3-5 who are enrolled in a dance class will meet in the cafeteria immediately after school. Girls will be brought to the dance room to change and boys will be brought to a separate changing area (boys bathroom or single use staff bathroom, depending on how many are enrolled).

Students in Gr. 3-5 who are enrolled in sports program will meet at the cafeteria immediately after school, the instructor will take them to the PS gym, and students will be given time to change in the bathrooms by the PS gym.

Program attire for Grade 3-5:

Ballet (girls): Bodysuit and ballet pink tights, ballet slippers, hair in a bun
Ballet (boys): White t-shirt, clean black leggings or shorts, white or black ballet slippers
Lyrical/Contemporary/Jazz/Musical Theatre/Tap: Bodysuit with shorts or leggings, form-fitting stretchy clothing, hair pulled back off the face, appropriate shoes
Sports Programs: Loose-fitting, easy-to-move-in clothing, hair pulled back off the face

What is your Refund Policy?

PACE Refunds, Cancellations, and Course Change Policies are as follows:

After School Activities Refund Policy:

In the unlikely event that programs are cancelled by Pacific Academy due to insufficient enrollment numbers or for any other unforeseen circumstances, parents will be notified immediately and a full refund will be issued.

Parent-initiated withdrawals made up to two (2) weeks before the program start date will receive a full refund less an administration fee of $25 and the convenience fee charged at checkout.

A partial refund of 50% of the program cost will be issued for withdrawals up to one (1) month into the program start date.

No refund will be issued for withdrawals after one (1) month of the program start date.

No prorating or refunds for days absent due to sickness, trips, or any other reason.

Late enrollment can be accepted up to one month after the program start date.

All requests for withdrawals must be made in writing via email to pace@mypacificacademy.net.

Summer Camp Refund Policy:

Withdrawals made before June 1st will receive a full refund less an administration fee of $50 and the convenience fee charged at checkout.

No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after June 1st.

Prorating and refunds are not available for days absent, or for any other reasons.

All requests for withdrawals must be made in writing via email to pace@mypacificacademy.net.

Course Changes: Course changes must be emailed to the PACE After School account at pace@pacificacademy.net and there may be a $25 administrative charge/course change fee issued. If there is then an amount owing, a notice will be emailed back and the participant will be switched into the new course selection upon paying the remaining balance. There are NO course changes within the 2 week period of the first day of camp/program.
